
Dr Veerinderjeet Singh |

Dr
Veerinderjeet Singh is the Managing Director of
TAXAND MALAYSIA Sdn. Bhd. He has extensive experience
in tax matters having been a Tax Partner in international
accounting firms and having worked with the Malaysian
Inland Revenue Department. He is a member of the
Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(MICPA), the Malaysian Institute of Accountants
(MIA), the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM)
as well as CPA Australia. He served as President
of CTIM for 3 years till 12 June 2010. He is also the Chairman
of the International Fiscal Association –
Malaysia Branch. He was also a member of the Labuan
IOFC Tax Consultative Committee set up by the Labuan
Offshore Financial Services Authority. He has
served as an Adjunct Professor at the University
of Malaya and currently is Visiting Fellow at the
Taylors Business School.. He has over 100 publications including
books as well as articles in local and international
tax, law and accounting journals and in local newspapers.
He has advised on a wide range of tax matters affecting
cross-border investments, corporate restructuring,
financial institutions, multi-national entities,
listed entities and government and quasi government
entities and projects. |

Dato’ Peter Tang |

Dato’
Peter Tang is a member of the MIA, the MICPA and
the CTIM. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association
of Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom as
well as a Chartered Tax Advisor of the Chartered
Institute of Taxation in the United Kingdom. He
holds an MBA and is also a Fellow of the British
Institute of Management. He has served in the tax
practice of a leading international accounting firm
in Malaysia for many years. He has also served as
a finance director of a Malaysian public-listed
company. He has had a wide exposure of over 25 years
in the area of taxation, particularly in corporate
tax planning as well as financial planning for individuals.
He has been involved in mergers and acquisitions
as well as in listing exercises. Besides this, he
has vast experience handling tax investigation and
tax audit cases. |

Kang Beng Hoe |

Kang
Beng Hoe’s professional career in taxation
spanned some 40 years, a large part of which was
as head of the tax practice of a leading international
accounting firm. He has extensive experience gained
from servicing a cross-section of clients which
included major Malaysian and multi-national companies,
banks and insurance companies, government and quasi-government
organisations. His expertise extends to all aspects
of corporate tax planning and advisory work including
implementation of business strategies and corporate
restructuring. In recent years, his particular focus
has been in the area of financial services. He was
actively involved in advising on the tax legislative
aspects of the property trust and mutual fund industry.
He was involved in the promotion of Malaysia’s
International Offshore Financial Centre, Labuan.
He sits on the board of a listed company and is
the Convenor of the Taxation Committee of the Malaysian
International Chamber of Commerce and Industry. |

Renuka Bhupalan

Renuka
Bhupalan graduated from the University of Bristol,
United Kingdom (UK) with a LL.B (Hons) degree. She
was later called to the Bar at Grays Inn, London.
She subsequently obtained the ATII professional
tax qualification in the UK and is a member of the
CTIM. Renuka has had extensive experience in taxation
with leading tax practices of international accounting
firms. Her experience covers both tax compliance
and consulting work across a wide spectrum of industries
for both multinational as well as Malaysian companies.
Her work experience includes tax planning for in-bound
and out-bound investments, group reorganisations,
mergers, privatisation and corporatisation exercises,
transfer pricing and real estate. She is also responsible
for tax training and tax knowledge management. She
has co-authored a publication entitled “Islamic
Banking in Malaysia” published by the Institute
of Bankers, Malaysia which was part of an awareness
initiative. She has also authored numerous articles
on various topics for local and international publications. |

Leow Mui Lee

Mui Lee graduated from Monash University, Australia
with a Bachelor of Economics Degree, majoring in
Accounting and Finance. She is a member of CPA Australia,
the MIA and the CTIM. Mui Lee has had over 14 years
of experience with leading tax practices of international
accounting firms. She has extensive experience in
corporate tax planning including restructuring of
companies for listing purposes, mergers & acquisitions
as well as outbound and inbound investments. She
has also been involved in projects relating to tax
risk management including self assessment documentation
reviews, tax compliance risk reviews and group tax
reviews. She is responsible for transfer pricing
assignments and has serviced a broad spectrum of
clients including large multinational corporations,
manufacturing companies and public listed companies.

Thang Mee Lee

Thang
Mee Lee graduated from University of Malaya with
a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree. She is a
member of the MICPA and the CTIM. Mee Lee has over
17 years of experience with leading tax practices
of international accounting firms. She has significant
experience in a engagements relating to all aspects
of corporate and personal tax matters, including
advising on tax structures for out-bound and in-bound
investments, corporate restructuring exercises together
with financing schemes, tax incentives and effective
employee remuneration packages for a wide range
of multinational entities as well as local enterprises.
Mee Lee also has considerable expertise with respect
to the oil and gas industry and petroleum income
tax. In addition, she has significant experience
dealing with the Ministry of Finance in advising
on and structuring of tax incentives for one of
Malaysia’s new economic zones. She is also
responsible for advising on tax issues related to
human capital including share plan structuring. |

Anand Chelliah |
Anand Chelliah is an Executive Director of Taxand Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a member of the CTIM. He was formerly an Executive Director in the tax practice of one of the largest international accounting firms in Malaysia where he was the leader of the Energy & Utilities tax group. He left professional practice in early 2006 and joined the corporate sector where he was Group Tax Adviser to a Malaysian conglomerate that has diverse business interests and investments. Anand has been involved in tax structuring work covering the development and establishment of tax-efficient corporate and operating structures for in-bound and out-bound investments. |

She was later called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, London. She subsequently obtained the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants professional qualification in the UK. Bernice has had wide experience on corporate tax matters with leading tax practices of international accounting firms in Malaysia. Bernice
specialises in transfer pricing and has assisted clients from diverse industries with transfer pricing planning and risk management, transfer pricing documentation, tax efficient supply chain management and controversy management. |
